Institute of Medicine release study on under-treatment of pain

The Institute of Medicine has just release a very large study of the treatment of chronic pain in this country.  The conclusion is that chronic pain is undertreated and that physicians and the public need to better understand how important this is.  Approximately 30% of the American public has chronic pain of one type or another.

The study is available now for free as an Adobe Acrobat file and can be downloaded here:

WE'RE GOING TO RALEIGH ON TUESDAY, APRIL 5TH!
If you'd like to go to Raleigh with us and meet your legislators face-to-face, now is the time!  We'll try to tell them about the harm they're doing to NC families, injured people and the taxpayers.  Meeting their constitutents really makes a difference.  We'll have a bus going and a free lunch.  Please give me a call at 704-376-1578 if you can go and we'll get you there!

Please sign the petition to protect workers' rights in NC!

If you click on the link below, you will be taken to a petition to the NC House and Senate, along with Governor Perdue, to protect workers' rights in NC.  We are asking them not to kick injured workers when they are down.  Don't take away what little benefits the NC Workers' Compensation Act make available to injured workers when they are disabled.  Don't send their families into welfare.  Don't bailout the insurance companies by allowing them to pocket more of the premiums paid by employers to protect the workers.
